Skywatcher Syncam 585C USB 3.0 Colour CMOS Camera

Designed for advanced amateur astrophotography, Sky-Watcher’s new SynCam 585C is a compact, passively cooled colour CMOS camera of 8.3 megapixel resolution that utilises the popular Sony IMX585 sensor, featuring 2.9μm square pixels.

Its main application is for high-resolution planetary photography, solar surface photography and lunar surface photography, but thanks to the ultra-low read noise and glow-free characteristics of its image sensor, it can also be used for entry-level deep-sky photography of galaxies and nebulae. Using stacking or live stacking image processing techniques, detailed low-noise images can be achieved using compatible software.

Due to its compact design, low weight characteristics & small diameter, it is an ideal match for the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Honders Minigraph, where the use of larger cameras could overload or partially obscure the telescope’s aperture. The black finish also helps to reduce unwanted reflections.

The Syncam 585C camera is fully compatible with the software ecosystem of ToupTek Astronomy Inc. and is supported by a wide range of astrophotography acquisition and control applications.
